Trive Capital hired Tyrone Johnson as an operating partner to focus on evaluating investment opportunities in building products. Johnson also will work with Trive portfolio companies on growth initiatives. Johnson previously worked as chief executive officer of Select Interior Concepts, a publicly company that provides interior surface products for residential and commercial.
Trive Capital (“Trive”), the Dallas, Texas based private equity firm is pleased to announce its renewed focus on the building products sector with the addition of Tyrone “Ty” Johnson as an Operating Partner. Mr. Johnson brings valuable sector expertise to the Operating Partner group and will assist Trive in evaluating investment opportunities in building products as well as engaging with Trive portfolio companies on value creation initiatives. Trive is targeting the building products sector for new investments and will be devoting resources to this sector, which the firm has a strong historical track record investing within.
Prior to joining Trive, Mr. Johnson served as Chief Executive Officer of Select Interior Concepts, a publicly traded leading provider of interior surface products for residential and commercial applications. Mr. Johnson also held the position of President, Omnimax North America, and prior to that was President of Amtico International, a private equity backed flooring manufacturer. Mr. Johnson spent the early part of his career at GE Capital in various product development, marketing, and business development roles. Mr. Johnson graduated from Howard University and received his M.B.A. from DePaul University.
