VC-Backed Spectra7 Appoints Guy Anthony as CFO

Toronto-based Spectra7 Microsystems Inc., an analog semiconductor company that recently established a Toronto Stock Exchange listing (under the symbol SEV), has appointed Guy Anthony as its new CFO. Anthony previously worked at Intel Corp. Spectra7 was founded in 2012 via a merger backed by Canadian venture capital firms. Celtic House Venture Partners led the company’s startup financing with the participation of Edgestone Capital Venture Fund III and Ventures West Capital.

Spectra7 Microsystems appoints Guy Anthony as CFO

June 11, 2013, Toronto, ON., Canada – Spectra7 Microsystems, an analog semiconductor company, announced that it has appointed Guy Anthony as chief financial officer, effective June 17, 2013.

Mr. Anthony is a seasoned financial executive with more than 30 years of experience working with both public and private companies. He earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School and then worked at Intel Corporation for 22 years. At Intel, he held a variety of finance and operational related positions at locations in Santa Clara, New Mexico and Hong Kong.

Mr. Anthony was Group Controller for the Microprocessor Group for 4 years and was Assistant Treasurer supporting Intel Capital for 3 years. Since leaving Intel he has been the CFO for Quellan (acquired by Intersil), Solaicx (acquired by MEMC Electronic Materials), Stentor (acquired by Philips), and most recently Medicalis.

Mr. Anthony succeeds outgoing CFO Patrick Leung who is leaving Spectra7.

Mr. Leung served as the Chief Financial Officer of Tristan Capital Inc. (formerly ATX Incorporated) between 2006 and 2010. Prior to Tristan, he was one of the founding members of Rockwater Capital in 2001, initially as the Chief Financial Officer and later as an investment banker with its subsidiary, Blackmont Capital, until 2006.

Between 1996 to 2001, Mr. Leung was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. Prior to Merrill Lynch, he held various management positions at Vitran Corporation Inc., focusing on corporate finance and corporate development. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche in 1988 as a Staff Accountant in the audit group. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a BA and MAcc from the University of Waterloo.
