West Face Capital’s Alexander Singh joins Acasta Capital

Alexander Singh has joined Toronto-based merchant bank and advisory firm Acasta Capital, assuming the roles of director and general counsel. Singh was previously a general counsel at West Face Capital, a Canadian alternative investment manager that combines control-through-distressed, high-yield, negotiated finance, proactive equity and private equity activity. West Face also has its headquarters in Toronto.

Prior to joining Acasta Capital, Alexander Singh was General Counsel to West Face Capital, one of Canada’s largest alternative asset managers which has grown to approximately $3B in assets under management. He was a member of the senior executive from April 2010 to August 2014, and had been actively involved in West Face’s transactions, fund formation, compliance and regulatory matters, and operations. In 2013, Alex was chosen as Tomorrow’s Leader at the annual Canadian General Counsel Awards. He previously practiced corporate and securities law at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, has a J.D. from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and a B.Comm. from McGill University.
