The hire will serve as a key member of the deal team, working directly with managing directors, directors, vice presidents and analysts on engagements. He or she will be given significant responsibility and will gain in-depth transaction experience, client exposure, negotiation skills and an understanding of transaction structures. Candidates should have a strong undergraduate and graduate academic performance (3.5 GPA or better). An MBA or equivalent graduate school degree in progress is preferred but not required. Also, three years of experience as an analyst or at least one year of experience as an associate is strongly preferred. The position is in New York.

Duties include analyzing investment opportunities for a variety of industries, companies and securities; managing and performing detailed due diligence processes; and building complex financial models to assist in investment evaluation, structuring and financing. Duties include monitoring existing external investment managers including leading manager portfolio review calls and meetings; screening and conducting comprehensive investment due diligence on prospective investments; and making investment recommendations and preparing associates reports. Also, the hire will assist with monitoring and evaluating portfolio structure including considerations of risk and return while recommending action on portfolios and investments. GCM Grosvenor is looking to hire a private equity investments analyst. The hire will be involved in all aspects of private equity investments, including due diligence, transaction execution and investment monitoring. He or she will focus on the primaries vertical but also may gain exposure to co-investment and secondary investment opportunities. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related degree with superior academic performance. Also, they should have prior experience underwriting primary fund investments and managing multi-year primary fund. Prior exposure to hard-to-access buyout and growth capital funds is preferred.
