


Apollo Global Management has named Jay Clayton as a lead independent director to its board of directors, effective March 1, 2021. Clayton was the former chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from May 2017 through December 2020.
Prior to serving as SEC Chairman, Clayton worked for more than 20 years with law firm Sullivan & Cromwell LLP where he was a member of the management committee and co-managing partner for the firm’s general practice group. Clayton will soon rejoin Sullivan & Cromwell LLP as senior policy advisor and of counsel. Also, he is set to return as adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
As of December 31, 2020, Apollo has about $455 billion in assets under management, according to the global investment firm. Apollo has offices in cities that span that globe such as New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Bethesda, London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Luxembourg, Mumbai, Delhi, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo.
