Reputation Institute, which is backed by Catalyst Investors, has hired Jamie Bedard as its global president and CEO. Bedard will be replacing Jonathan Ewert who will transition to serving on the company's board of directors. Bedard has worked previously at Aberdeen Group and Benchmarking Partners. Reputation Institute, which has headquarters in both New York City and Copenhagen, Denmark, is a global corporate reputation measurement and management firm.
Matrix has launched a media and communications group that will be led by managing director Michael S. McHugh. Previously, McHugh worked at Waller Capital Partners where he served as managing director. Based in Richmond, Virginia, Matrix is an investment bank that provides M & A and financial advisory services for companies.
BlueSnap, a portfolio company of Great Hill Partners, has secured $50 million in funding. The investors were Great Hill,  Parthenon Capital Partners and BlueSnap CEO Ralph Dangelmaier.
National Response Corp., a portfolio company of J.F. Lehman & Company, has closed its buy of Emerald Alaska from Emerald Services. No financial terms were disclosed. BNP Paribas Securities Corp. arranged senior debt financing for the acquisition. Based in Anchorage, Emerald Alaska is a provider of environmental and emergency response solutions to the oil and gas sector in Alaska.
Riverside has acquired LeaseHawk's online education unit as an add-on to its multi-family industry training platform. No financial terms were disclosed. Jones Day, Deloitte and Douglas Deal Consulting advised Riverside on the transaction while Freeport Financial provided financing.
Ipreo, which is backed by Blackstone and Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division, has acquired Shareholder InSite. No financial terms were disclosed. FT Partners advised Shareholder InSite on the transaction. Shareholder InSite is a provider of shareholder data management, analytics, reporting and valuation solutions and services for venture capital and private equity investors and private companies in their portfolios.
Surgery Partners, a portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital, has closed its acquisition of Symbion Holdings for $792 million. Jefferies served as financial advisor to Surgery Partners and provided committed debt financing for the transaction while Morgan Stanley was financial advisor to Symbion. Symbion, which was backed by Crestview Partners, runs a national network of short stay surgical facilities.
GI Partners has closed its buy of Kellermeyer Bergensons Services. No financial terms were disclosed; however BNP Paribas Securities Corp. and CIT Finance are providing the capital for the transaction. Robert W Baird & Co. served as financial advisor. Based in Oceanside, Calif. and Maumee, Ohio, KBS is a provider of integrated facilities management services to retail and grocery chains in North America.
Genstar Capital has sold a "significant" stake in Insurity to TA Associates. No financial terms were disclosed. Spurrier Capital Partners was financial advisor to Insurity on the transaction while Ropes & Gray represented Genstar. Also, TA Associates will be joining Genstar on Insurity's board of directors. Based in Hartford, Conn., Insurity is a provider of core insurance processing, data integration and analysis solutions.
Baird Capital has appointed Scott Hoffman as an operating partner. Previously, Hoffman worked at Brady Corp. where he served as president of global workplace safety. Baird is the private investment arm of Robert W. Baird & Co.
