Windjammer Capital Investors said Thursday that it has acquired Component Hardware from Liberty Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Headquartered in Lakewood, NJ, Component Hardware is a provider of plumbing and hardware products.
McLean, Virginia-based Gladstone Investment Corp. said Thursday that it has named Peter Kotz as a managing director in its Chicago office. In his new position, Kotz will expand marketing initiatives and be responsible for managing new investment opportunities. Previously, Kotz worked at Gridiron Capital.
EnVivo Pharmaceuticals has named Deborah Dunsire, M.D., as its president and CEO. She also joins the company’s board of directors. Previously, Dr. Dunsire served as president and CEO of Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company. Based in Watertown, Mass., EnVivo Pharmaceuticals, which is backed by Fidelity Biosciences, is a company that focuses on treating central nervous system disorders.
JMI Equity said Thursday that it has made six promotions. Matt Emery and David Greenberg have become principals while Krishna Potarazu assumes the role of vice president. Also, Charles Dieveney has been named COO, Randy Guttman is now CFO and Melissa Caslin has been appointed vice president of talent. All promotions were effective July 1, 2013. Based in both Baltimore and San Diego, JMI Equity is a growth equity firm focused on investing in software, internet, business services and healthcare IT companies.
Christian Hernandez, the director of EMEA for Facebook, will soon leave the firm to become a managing partner at UK-based White Star Capital, according to announcements made Wednesday on both White Star's website and Hernandez's Facebook post. Prior to his stint at Facebook, Hernandez worked at Google and Microsoft. White Star Capital is an early-stage venture capital firm. CROSSMARK, a portfolio company of Warburg Pincus, has named John Compton to its board of directors. Previously, Compton served as president of PepsiCo and CEO of PepsiCo Americas Foods. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, CROSSMARK is a provider of sales and marketing services to the consumer goods sector.
PineBridge Investments said Wednesday that it has named Tucker Glavin as managing director of U.S. sales and Paul Osborne as managing director of UK and European sales. Glavin and Osborne will be based in New York and London, respectively, and report to John Baumann, who heads institutional sales and client service for the Americas and Europe. Previously, Glavin served as director of institutional services at Lord Abbett while Osborne headed European sales at Cohen & Steers.
Evercore said Wednesday that it plans on launching a private capital advisory business, which will focus on secondary transactions for private funds. Nigel Dawn and Nicolas Lanel will join Evercore to lead the business. Evercore is a global investment firm.
Western Digital Corp. said Wednesday that it has acquired VeloBit. No financial terms were disclosed. Wells Fargo Securities served as financial advisor to VeloBit for the transaction. Headquartered in Lincoln, Mass., VeloBit, which was backed by Fairhaven Capital and Longworth Venture Partners, is a provider of software storage solutions.
AXA Private Equity has agreed to purchase Unicredit's 40% stake in HISI. No financial terms were disclosed. As a result of the transaction, AXA Private Equity, which already owns 40% stake in HISI, will now own 80%. HISI is a holding company that focuses mostly on the healthcare sector.
