Canadian medical cannabis producer Tilray has appointed Greg Engel as its CEO. Prior to joining the company, he served as an executive in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, including Forest Laboratories Canada Inc. Based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Tilray operates a licensed facility to grow, process, package and ship medical cannabis to Canadian patients. It was launched in 2013 by private equity firm Privateer Holdings. Earlier this year, Privateer received an investment from Founders Fund.
