Fortress Investment Group has named Timothy J. Sloan as a senior advisor. Sloan is the former CEO of Wells Fargo.
In his new role with Fortress, Sloan will provide advice and counsel to the senior leadership team of the firm and be active on its investment committees. He is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Sloan began his career at Wells Fargo in 1987. He held leadership roles in the company’s credit and real estate operations, and headed groups including commercial banking, commercial real estate and specialized financial services. In 2016, Sloan was appointed CEO, president and member of the company’s board of directors. He retired from Wells Fargo in 2019.
Founded in 1998, Fortress has about $41.5 billion of assets under management as of September 30, 2019.
