Hamilton Lane taps Varma as CFO and treasurer

Varma is an experienced CFO who has worked for Bank of New York Mellon Corporation and Bank of America.

Atul Varma is joining Hamilton Lane as chief financial officer and treasurer, according to a news release. His appointment is effective January 6, 2020.

Varma is succeeding Randy M. Stilman, who is retiring from the position after 22 years. Stilman will remain at the private markets asset management firm into 2020 during the transition process.

Prior to joining Hamilton Lane, Varma was head of business strategy and CFO of wealth management at the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. Also, he’s a former CFO of various divisions of Bank of America Corporation’s global wealth and investment management group.
