KKR has named Hidekazu Harada as a managing director to its Tokyo-based private equity team. The appointment is effective immediately.
Previously, he worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was most recently a board member and co-head of Japan Investment Banking. Prior to his time at the bank, Harada spent four years at Daiwa Securities SMBC’s Tokyo and London offices where he focused on mergers & acquisitions. Earlier in his career, he worked in transaction services at ChuoAoyama PricewaterhouseCoopers (now PwC Japan Group).
KKR established an office in Japan in 2006. Since then, it has invested or committed more than $2.2 billion of equity into various companies, according to the firm.
