Lindsay Goldberg hires Morgan Stanley PE chief

Lindsay Goldberg hired the former head of Morgan Stanley’s private equity group, Eric Fry, as a partner.

Fry began working for Morgan Stanley in 1989 and was named a managing director at the bank in 2001. He left Morgan Stanley in 2004 to take a position with private equity firm Metalmark Capital before rejoining the bank in 2007 to lead its private equity group with Michael Hehn.

In a statement, Lindsay Goldberg co-founder Bob Lindsay cited Fry’s “deep experience” as an asset for the firm, which specializes in investments in entrepreneur- and family-owned businesses.

“Having known Eric for many years and worked with him closely, Bob and I are excited to have him join our firm,” said co-founder and CEO Alan Goldberg in a statement. “Eric’s strong investing expertise and his background are an excellent fit with our long-term, family-oriented investment culture.”
