New York City Office of the Comptroller is looking to hire a senior investment officer, private equity. The hire will assist the head of private equity on the construction, management and strategic planning for the PE portfolio. Also, he or she will lead initiatives to identify, review, and evaluate prospective investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on investment opportunities and updating internal database of prospective investment opportunities. Candidates should have a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, finance, accounting or a closely related field. Also, they should have four or more years of progressively responsible experience in a financial services organization handling complex financial transactions with considerable exposure to private equity funds or similar experience at a consulting firm/bank; or a BS/BA degree from an accredited college with major studies in the fields mentioned above and six or more years of progressively responsible professional experience as described above. New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
BlackRock is searching for a private funds attorney. Candidates should be a private funds attorney who will be involved in providing legal advice and consultation, focusing on a variety of legal issues relating to alternative investment funds, including fund structuring, marketing and corporate governance. Candidates should have a J.D. with outstanding academic credentials from a nationally-recognized law school, and ten or more years’ experience as a lawyer in the asset management or fund formation group within a major law firm, the legal department of an investment management firm or the alternative investment division at an investment bank. Fund formation experience and familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, AIFMD and the other U.S. and non-U.S. laws impacting privately offered funds is preferred. The position is in New York City.
Macquarie Group is seeking an associate for its private equity principal finance group. Duties include conducting industry and company research, performing due diligence, financial analysis, financial models, presentation, and writing investment committee memoranda with the view of executing investment and capital raising opportunities. Also, he or she will help manage and track the performance and strategic direction of existing portfolio companies. Candidates should have three to five years in the investment banking industry or investing experience. Private equity, venture capital or other junior debt/equity investment experience in the telecommunications and infratech sectors is a plus. FINRA exams are also required or must be obtained within 6 months (SIE, S79, S63 as applicable). The position is in New York City.
