Private Equity Jobs of the Week: CPPIB, BlackRock and Goodwin are hiring

CPPIB is seeking two senior principals for its secondaries group in North America and Europe respectively. Reporting to the managing director, head of secondaries, the senior principals will lead global deal teams originating, executing and managing the full range of secondaries investments across buyout, growth and (selectively) venture assets. Candidates should have thirteen plus years of private equity or other relevant experience; and proven experience in sourcing, executing and completing successful deals. In North America the position can be based in Toronto or New York; and in Europe the position is based in London.

BlackRock is on the hunt for an associate for the firm’s US Private Capital unit. The hire will be responsible for the regular monitoring of the investments and preparation of periodic reports of performance. Also, he or she will report to the head of portfolio management and partner with other professionals within the organization. Candidates should have a background in credit investing with research and modeling skills to assist in portfolio monitoring and managing existing investments as well as familiarity with underwriting new investments. They should have two plus years of relevant experience and a finance-related or business degree. The position is in New York City.

Goodwin is on the hunt for an associate to join its private equity investment funds practice. Candidates must have experience both working in teams and managing substantial components of fund formation transactions with private investment funds in the private equity industry. Also, they should be experienced in private placements under the 33 Act, unregistered funds under the Investment Company Act and have exposure to the Investment Advisers Act. Candidates should have outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
New York bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) is preferred. The position is in New York.

Blackstone is looking to hire a financial associate for its global fund finance unit. Duties include assisting with reviewing daily cash and investment activity; monitoring and reporting on credit facility activity; reviewing of journal entries and analysis of general ledger accounts. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting; be a CPA or CPA candidate; and have four to six years of related experience in public accounting and/or private equity fund administration. The position is in New York City.
