The hire will support an experienced senior private investment specialist in managing and allocating $1.5 billion annually to private investments for current clients. Duties include advising clients on their private investments; researching PI asset classes, products and investment managers in coordination with the research staff; and serving as a resource to the teams’ other investment directors in establishing and monitoring clients’ PI programs. A BA or BS degree is required. Candidates should have two to four years of investment experience with a strong preference for PI knowledge gained from work in a similar capacity at either a family office, large institutional investor (such as a pension fund or endowment), fund-of-funds, or at a private equity investment firm. The position is in Boston.
William Blair is on the hunt for an investment banking vice president of equity capital markets. The hire will work alongside and support senior bankers in researching and creating marketing pitch materials, building financial models, analyze stock trading and price performance, and engage directly with institutional investors. A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA is preferred. Candidates should have four plus years of investment banking experience, with one being at the vice president level. The position is in New York City.
PIMCO is searching for a portfolio manager for its special situations group. The hire will assist in sourcing, evaluating, and structuring a range of potential investments including, but not limited to; unsecured consumer loans, aircraft leases, equipment leases, life settlements, royalty streams, SME loans, trade finance, litigation finance and regulatory capital transactions. Also, he or she will prepare presentations and make recommendations to senior portfolio managers and fund investment committees on investment opportunities. Candidates should have two to five years of work experience, preferably in investment banking or asset management. A bachelor’s degree with a major in finance, economics, mathematics or the applied sciences is preferred as is an existing knowledge of financial markets and transaction structuring. Also, he or she will be a key team member for capital raising across multiple capital markets, including equity markets and debt markets. Candidates should have relevant prior experience in investment banking, capital raising, private equity/debt, management consulting, corporate financial planning and/or accounting.
