Thoma Bravo and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan have agreed to buy San Francisco-based enterprise tech firm Riverbed Technology for $21 per share at a value of about $3.6 billion.
The deal is expected to be completed in the first half of 2015.
Jerry Kennelly, CEO of Riverbed, will continue in his role.
Qatalyst Partners and Goldman Sachs are providing financial advice to Riverbed on the transaction.
Earlier this year, hedge fund Elliott Management made an unsuccessful bid to acquire Riverbed for $3.36 billion.
