Apollo Global Management and Double Eagle Energy Holdings have expanded their strategic partnership to invest in oil and gas properties. The partnership will continue with its mid-continent operations, but will look to add new projects in the Permian Basin, the Eagle Ford and the Rocky Mountains.
Inventergy, an intellectual property acquisition and licensing company, has closed on an expanded $7.25 million private placement of its common stock. Laidlaw & Company worked as lead placement agent. Due to market demand, the offering was increased by 80 percent from its original target.
Ensighten, an enterprise data and tag management provider, has closed a $40 million Series B investment from Insight Venture Partners. The company will use the funding to expand its sales and marketing operation around the world.
Changers, which sells personal solar products allowing consumers to produce their own energy and measure how much they use, has closed a $1.5 million Series A funding round led by BFB Frühphasenfonds Brandenburg, a government-backed German development fund that focuses on early-stage companies in the state of Brandenburg. Heliocentris Energy Solutions and additional private investors participated in the funding round.
PowerVision, which is developing an intraocular lens, has closed on $20 million of its Series D funding round. Existing investors Venrock, Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Medtronic, Advanced Technology Ventures, Lexington Capital and Frazier Healthcare Ventures participated in the funding round. PowerVision plans on raising an additional $10 million as part of the Series D funding round.
Summit Investments, formed by Energy Capital Partners in 2009, has acquired a stake in Ohio Gathering Company and Ohio Condensate Company for an undisclosed amount. Summit bought the stake from Blackhawk Midstream, a joint venture between Gulfport Energy Corporation and Wexford Capital. Barclays Capital worked as financial advisor to Summit Investments on the transaction.
London-based Appian Capital Advisory has closed its debut metals and mining fund on $375 million. Fund I will invest in metals and mining companies in Latin America, North America, Africa and Europe. Appian Natural Resources Fund also has access to a co-investment pool. Mercury Capital Advisors worked as placement agent on the fundraising.
Round Hill Music Royalty Partners is targeting $200 million to buy copyrights of iconic songs that will produce royalty streams.
Igenica, which focuses on discovery and development of cancer treatments, has raised $14 million in Series C extension funding. All major existing investors participated in the funding round, including The Column Group, 5AM Ventures, OrbiMed and Third Rock Ventures. Two years ago, the company closed a $33 million Series C funding round.
Sightly, a video advertising technology company, has raised $1.7 million in seed funding. The funding round was led by Mack Capital, with participation by investors including Tomorrow Ventures and 500 Startups.
