Global law firm Morrison & Foerster's Berlin office announced the addition of Angela Kerek as partner to its finance department. Kerek, formerly of the Linklaters' Frankfurt office, will help the firm build out a dedicated debt finance practice in Germany.
Multinational wind turbine company Envision Energy acquired BazeField Technology, maker of software for managing wind farms. BazeField will continue to operate independently under the agreement.
Baird Capital's U.K. private equity group bought a majority stake in bfinance Holdings Limited, a provider of investment consultancy and manager selection advice. Headquartered in London, bfinance advises customers including large corporations, public sector pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and family offices. Baird Capital is the direct private investment arm of Robert W. Baird & Co.
Xact Data Discovery, a portfolio company of Clearview Capital Fund III, L.P., acquired San-Francisco-based F1 Discovery, LLC, a provider of electronic discovery services to law firms and corporate clients. The deal expands the West Coast presence of XDD, which is headquartered in Mission, Kansas.

Altas Partners LP completed a US$1 billion fundraise, the firm announced. The fund, Altas Partners Holdings LP, was oversubscribed and closed at its hard cap. Toronto-based Altas pursues a long-term strategy that involves investing in only one or two businesses each year, thereby allowing the investor to hold assets for more than 10 years. The Altas portfolio currently consist of three companies, including Grenada-based St. George’s University.
