ElmTree Funds, a private equity real estate firm, has teamed up with China Life, a Chinese financial insurance company, to recapitalize an existing ElmTree net lease portfolio for $950 million. The portfolio assets are build-to-suit properties that are mostly leased to investment grade tenants. Hodes Weill Securities LLC provided financial advice to ElmTree Funds on the transaction.
Onex Corp has hired Laurence Goldberg as a managing director. Goldberg will be based in the firm's New York office and responsible for leading Onex's technology investments. Previously, Goldberg worked at Barclays where he was the global head of technology, media and telecom investment banking.
YFM Equity Partners has made an undisclosed investment to support the management buyout of TEV Limited. Tariq Javaid of Garbutt + Elliott and Chris Blantern of Schofield Sweeney advised TEV on the transaction. Based in the UK, TEV is a maker of cooling, heating and refrigeration equipment.
