Chicago Ventures, a fund focused on early-stage technology companies based in Chicago and the Greater Midwest, said on Monday that it has raised $40 million. Lead investors include JB Pritzker, Pat Ryan, Jr. and The Duchossois Group as well the fund's partners Stuart Larkins and Kevin Willer.

Babson Capital Management LLC said on Monday that it has provided subordinated debt and made an equity co-investment in Main Street Capital Holdings’ acquisition of the Hi-Rel Group LLC. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Essex, Conn., the Hi-Rel Group is a provider of components for the microelectronic packaging sector.

CI Capital Partners said on Monday that it has sold Transplace to Greenbriar Equity Group. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Frisco, TX, Transplace is a provider of third party logistics.

CareCloud said on Monday that it has named Tom Cady as its new vice president of professional services. In this position, Cady will manage the company's client implementation and training teams. CareCloud, which was backed by Intel Capital and Norwest Venture Partners, is a Boston-based provider of cloud-based solutions.

Nyloncraft, a technical plastics company that is owned by Techniplas Group, has acquired NYX Fort Wayne from NYX Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. Angle Advisors acted as the investment banking advisor to NYX for this transaction. Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, NYX Fort Wayne is a producer of plastic fluid reservoirs and related components for under-the-hood vehicular applications.

BNY Mellon- Alcentra Mezzanine Partners said on Friday that it hired Karin Kovacic as a vice president. In this position, Kovacic will focus on business development and initiatives across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Based in New York City, BNY-Mellon Alcentra Mezzanine Partners is a provider of senior debt and equity capital.

JPMorgan Chase said on Friday that One Equity Partners, the firm’s private equity arm, will raise their next fund from an external group of limited partners and become independent from JPMorgan Chase. One Equity Partners currently manages approximately $4.5 billion of investments for JPMorgan Chase in direct private equity transactions. According to the company, OEP will still oversee the existing group of portfolio companies for JPMorgan Chase.

Oklahoma City-based AGC Aerospace & Defense, a supplier of technology and services for commercial and military programs, said on Friday that Robert J. Khoury has joined its Composites & Aerostructures' board of directors. Owed by both The Edgewater Funds and Acorn Growth Companies, AGC Composites & Aerostructures is a producer of aircraft components.

Channel Technologies Group, a portfolio company of Blue Wolf Capital Partners, said on Friday that it has named Ralph L. Phillips as CEO. Phillips, who most recently served as president of Smiths Interconnect, succeeds Kevin Ruelas, who is leaving CTG to pursue new opportunities. Based in Santa Barbara, Calif., CTG is a producer of technology for the defense and energy sectors.

Madrona Venture Group, a Seattle-based early-stage venture capital firm, said on Thursday that it has promoted Julie Sandler to principal. Prior to joining Madrona, Sandler was a senior product manager at Amazon.
