PerfectlySoft Inc. Raises $1.2 Million in Seed Funding Led by Impression Ventures
The Perfect web development platform for server-side Swift removes development silos and increases flexibility and efficiency for full-stack mobile developers
May 17, 2016
TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PerfectlySoft Inc., the creator of Perfect, the world’s first server-side Swift development framework, announced today that it has raised $1.2 million in a seed round of funding led by Impression Ventures, one of Canada’s leading VC firms focused on investing in fintech and enterprise-focused startups. Apple’s open source Swift programming language is one of the fastest-growing languages with more than 18 percent of mobile developers preferring it over Java, C++, and other legacy languages after being released less than two years ago, in June 2014. 1
With Perfect, front-and-backend iOS development silos are a thing of the past. Built from the DNA of the Lasso language, Perfect’s framework represents 20 years of knowledge and codebase. Introduced in late 2015 before Apple declared Swift an open source language, Perfect is a world-class server-side platform for full-stack mobile developers who use the Swift programming language. Free-to-use and available under the permissible Apache License v2.0, it provides developers with a high-performance framework, stable tools, and full debugging support so they can complete their server-side Swift projects for iOS, OS X, and Linux environments efficiently and cost-effectively.
“PerfectlySoft saw and capitalized on an opportunity to empower Swift developers through Perfect, an easy-to-use, agile, and streamlined platform with a mobile-first mentality,” said Christian Lassonde, Founder and Managing Partner at Impression Ventures. “Getting in on the ground floor of Swift’s rapid growth with server-side support is a huge opportunity. We look forward to Perfect’s continued growth as the go-to platform for full-stack mobile developers to help streamline their development projects.”
PerfectlySoft will use the investment to scale its team and technology infrastructure, and to continue introducing Perfect to major markets and attending key iOS and Mac developers’ industry events.
“With the support and experience of Christian Lassonde and Impression Ventures, we can spread Perfect’s accessibility to more full-stack mobile developers, and provide them with an agile cross-platform framework to code in Swift on the server,” said Sean Stephens, CEO of PerfectlySoft. “We believe Swift represents the future of mobile application development, but it needs a server-side component. Perfect is that common framework for developing with Swift for the backend that developers need to complete their projects expeditiously.”
