Castle Harlan has acquired Gold Star Foods, Inc., a nutritional food distributor to K-12 schools in California, Arizona and Nevada, from Prospect Partners. Castle Harlan made the investment through its Fund V.
Odyssey Investment Partners portfolio company Wencor Group has acquired XTRA Aerospace, a component repair station for commercial aircraft. Corporate Finance Associates, Inc., worked as exclusive advisor to XTRA Aerospace on the sale.

Private equity firm Blackstone Group (BX.N) is set to launch a $4.2 billion financing to back its $5.4 billion acquisition of auto parts maker Gates Global, sister news service Reuters reports. The deal is the second-largest U.S. leveraged buyout financing of the year, according to Thomson Reuters data, and is also the largest private equity buyout of an industrial company in more than four years.
GreenSky Capital and Enlightened Private Capital announced this week that they have completed a financing of Toronto-based Tri-D Technologies to expand its commercialization efforts. Tri-D is a developer of software for textile manufacturers, and was last year the recipient of financing from the Investment Accelerator Fund. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Augyva Mining Resources, a Montreal-based iron exploration and mining company, announced this week that it has closed its previously announced private placement of approximately $500,000. Augyva has also announced the appointment of Kuldeep Billan as CEO, who is joining the company from West Face Capital. Curtis Johansson, from CAI Private Equity, and Louis De Jong have also joined the company as directors.
LX Ventures announced this week that it has reached an agreement to sell part of its stake in Copper Cloud to undisclosed venture capital investors for $700,000 in cash, plus royalties and other considerations. peHUB Canada previously reported LX Ventures' acquisition of Copper.io in January.

Custom Ecology, a portfolio company of New York-based Kinderhook Industries, has acquired Ontario-based B.J. Bear. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Kitchener, B.J. Bear is a provider of outsourced municipal solid waste hauling solutions.
KPS Capital Partners said Monday that it has agreed to acquire Anchor Glass from Ardagh Holdings USA. No financial terms were disclosed for the transaction, which is expected to be completed during the second or third quarter of 2014. UBS Investment Bank and RBC Capital Markets will arrange the financing for the buyout. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, Anchor Glass is a maker of glass packaging products for the liquor, beverage and food sectors.
