xAd, the mobile-local advertising network, raised an additional $9 million led by Emergence Capital Partners, a prior investor in the company. Other existing backers including SoftBank Capital and Palisades Ventures, as well as SVB, also participated in the funding. In March, xAd acquired mobile property go2, a mobile Web guide.
California-based IntegenX Inc., maker of DNA identification technology, raised a $40 million Series C round led by new investor Essex Woodlands. Domain Associates, QuestMark Partners, Greenspring Associates, Cross Creek Capital, RONAholdings LLC, Samsung Ventures, and strategic partner In-Q-Tel also participated in the funding. Joining the company's Board of Directors are Ronald Eastman of Essex Woodlands and Ben Shapiro of QuestMark Partners, the statement said.
Massachusetts-based Catabasis Pharmaceuticals raised an additional $8 million in its Series A financing, now bringing its total funding for the round to $47.6 million. The company is developing an omega-3 conjugated compound for patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia. Scout Partners and KBW Capital Partners have invested in International Planning Group. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Wellesley, Mass.-based International Planning is a life insurance sales, marketing, distribution and consulting company.
General Atlantic said Monday that it has promoted Jing Hong to MD and Ke Wei and Joern Nikolay to principal. Hong is based in China and leads GA's global emerging markets consumer sector. Wei is in GA's Beijing  office, while Nikolay is in London.
Cross Atlantic Capital Partners has invested in Sagence Group. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Sagence is a management consulting firm.
