Alberta Investment Management Corp has closed its acquisition of a majority stake in Eolia Renovables de Inversiones SCR SA, a Spanish renewable energy company. Terms weren’t released for the deal, which was announced in November. It saw the Canadian pension fund acquire more than 90 percent of Eolia from U.S. private equity firm Oaktree Capital Management. Oaktree acquired the business, a developer, builder and operator of wind farms and solar photovoltaic plants, in 2015.
Argonaut Private Equity has made an investment in Houston-based Mammoth Carbon Products, a pipeline distribution company. No financial terms were disclosed.
First Reserve has agreed to acquire Weir Flow Control, a maker of engineered valves and pumps used in energy and broader industrial applications, from The Weir Group PLC. No financial terms were disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of this year.
BlackRock and KKR are investing $4 billion in Abu Dhabi’s oil pipelines. BlackRock and KKR are buying 40 percent in an entity called ADNOC Oil Pipelines, which will lease ADNOC’s interest in 18 pipelines for a 23-year period.
Drillinginfo, a portfolio company of Genstar Capital, has acquired Cortex, a network-as-a-service company that enables automation of accounts payable and receivable processes for the oil and gas industry. No financial terms were disclosed.
Jinko Power, Ardian Infrastructure and White Summit Capital have agreed to construct and operate La Isla, a solar photovoltaic plant near Seville, Spain. The plant is currently in development and construction is expected to be completed during the second half of 2019.
Macquarie Infrastructure Partners has acquired Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based Wheelabrator, an owner and operator of waste-to-energy facilities. The seller was Energy Capital Partners. No financial terms were disclosed.
Jensen Hughes, which is owned by Gryphon Investors, has acquired Houston-based Technical Response Planning Corporation, a provider of emergency planning, training and response consulting services for the energy industry. No financial terms were disclosed.
Skyline Renewables, which was formed last year by Transatlantic Power Holdings and Ardian, has acquired a 117 megawatt wind portfolio from NJR Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources. No financial terms were disclosed. The wind farms are located in Iowa, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Wyoming.
EnCap Investments LP has committed $300 million to Pegasus Resources LLC. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Pegasus is a mineral and royalty company.
